Kruger Products was formerly known as Scott Paper Limited. In 1997, our parent company, Kruger Inc., purchased the assets of Kruger Products from Kimberly-Clark. The purchase included a ten-year licensing and trademark agreement for the Kruger Products name, Cottonelle and ScotTowels trademarks names that expires in June 2007. So we knew that we would ultimately have to change our name and, in 2004, began the process of doing so. Our new name was announced in October 2006 and completed a major, three-year rebranding initiative that created an entirely new and all-Canadian banner – Kruger Products – for several of Canada’s most successful, best-selling tissue brands. |

Kruger Products operates four papermaking mills in Canada. They are located in Crabtree, Sherbrooke and Gatineau, Quebec and New Westminster, British Columbia. In addition, we operate a converting plant in Calgary, Alberta. This geographically diversified base of operations provides Kruger Products with a significant competitive advantage because of our proximity to both raw materials inputs and major Canadian and U.S. markets for our finished products. In aggregate, the Kruger Products’ total papermaking capacity of Kruger Products is approximately 252,000 Gross Air Dried Metric Tonnes (GADMT), which represents approximately 40% of Canada’s total installed tissue manufacturing capacity.

Both Kruger Products and Kruger Inc. are committed to managing, operating and maintaining all of our manufacturing sites in an environmentally sound manner and to enhancing our environmental performance through a process of continual improvement. We place environmental management among our highest priorities and have established policies, programs and practices for conducting operations accordingly. For example, our products and facilities are 100% elemental chlorine free, the effluents from our paper mills are mainly non-toxic and many of our bathroom and towel products have the highest recycled fibre content in the premium tissue category. Kruger Products is also a committed participant in Ontario's Blue Box program. We also encourage everyone who works with us to share our commitment to the environment and operate with the same environmental sensitivity as we do. |
